Following, living, and doing the teachings of Christ – which is learned through the bible.
A Christian is someone who represents Christ, is like Christ, others can see Christ in them, and they reflect Christ through their actions.
To me, a Christian is not simply believing, but it is also doing.
If we are not following God's will or his way, and living out our love for God by applying actions with our faith, then being called a Christian is nothing more then a title.
For my understanding, the word Christian originated from people calling Christ's disciples Christians (But, the word was spelled and pronounced slightly differently). So I feel a Christian would be someone like Christ's disciples.
I think a Christan is someone who tries to be like Christ the best they can. But of course, no one is perfect, so the only way to be truly righteous is through Christ, as he blots out our imperfections, mistakes, and is the only way to overcome anything.
However, I will admit I am far from being the Christian I wish I was, and am more often then not a hypocrite. But my walk with God is never ending and my hopes in Him are always growing. My walk with God is a journey, and I know He is with me even though I am still a sinner.
And here are a few plays on words I have come to like :
A Christian is someone who has Christ in them : Christ is within us --- Christ within --- Christi in --- Christ-in --- Christian!
J = Jesus First.
O = Others Second.
Y = Yourself humbly last.
That spells Joy.
W.W.J.D.
What Would Jesus Do?
Every action and choice can be lived by this saying.
Basically, a Christian is someone who's heart belongs to Christ and they live for Him by faith, believing, and actions as best they can on their own personal level and relationship with Him.
